I have been the Co-Director of the KKIS Project (Keeping Kids in School) in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for the past four years. We gather donated school supplies and raise money to buy even more supplies that will be delivered to students whose families need a little help keeping them in school. A huge order of supplies was placed about a month ago with the proceeds from our annual auction and delivery is expected next Wednesday. Very exciting to begin packing KKIS bags with everything a child will need for a year of school: notebooks, geometry set, glue sticks, pens and pencils, erasers, highlighter, markers and colored pencils….. And then to see their faces as they open these bags and realize this is all for them with our trust and confidence that they will make good use of the supplies and succeed.
If you can help pack bags please be in touch with me: janet@kkisproject.org.
