I spent a couple hours doing my face paint to create this Katrina, then went walking along Quinta Avenida in Playa del Carmen greeting children and adults and drumming my rubber fingers on every bald head I found. Great fun!
Day of the Dead in Playa del Carmen, Mexico
The KKIS Project volunteers who practice conversational English with CECYTE high school students twice weekly were invited to a Day of the Dead party for hot cocoa and pan de muerto. The students had created Katrinas and dressed them to represent the traditional clothing from many states in Mexico. Great fun and lovely Katrinas!
The students and faculty also donated lightly used books for the new library that the KKIS Project with the Canadian charity, Library in a Week, are building in the Cristo Rey neighborhood north and west of Playa. Gracias!!!!
